Modular Homes are built in a factory with all the economies of scale that implies. However, when they are placed on a site they are there to stay. They are NOT mobile homes or Manufactured homes.
This kind of setup is perhaps 30% more expensive than traditional mobile home setup, but the advantage is the buyer has MANY more financing options. In fact, the properly sited modular home has all the same financing options available as a site built. This is good for the buyer and very helpful wh en the time comes to sell the home. I have heard many sad stores from mobile home buyers who are stuck with a property they can't sell because potential buyers can't get financing.
